“The most difficult part of birth is the first year afterwards. It is the year of travail – when the soul of a woman must birth the mother inside her. The emotional labour pains of becoming a mother are far greater than the physical pangs of birth; these are the growing surges of your heart as it pushes out selfishness and fear and makes room for sacrifice and love. It is a private and silent birth of the soul, but it is no less holy than the event of childbirth, perhaps it is even more sacred.” – Joy Kusek
2017 was a very special year for me. I am incredibly thankful to all my clients who believe in me and my photography. I truly enjoyed every session and met so many great people. I hope to see many of my clients this year too and make new friends as well.
Here is a selection from our sessions in 2017, which makes my heart sing.
If this style of photography appeals to you then do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you. At the moment I am booking sessions for Spring 2018! You can find more details here: http://www.ramanava.com/booking.html
I took hundreds of lovely pictures and have hardly shown them. Here are some which I really enjoy! So much love and light! Thank you and hope to see you next year!
I think it is time to start getting into the festive end-of-the-year mood! I have been taking your family portraits for two years now and I cannot express how happy and overwhelmed I am with the results! I decided to organize a small gift giving action to thank you for your trust and support! So I have randomly chosen some of my most favourite pictures. I really could not chose all of them because the list would be too long. And of course I also could not chose photographs for which I do not have a model release.
So here are the rules!
Please vote for your favourite picture in the comment below and share this post on a social media. The photographs which will get most of the votes will be printed as 20x30 cm high quality prints and will be sent to the models. I am thinking of having three winners but we will see! Thank you for taking part in this fun project! Cheers!
It was my first year of being a family photographer! Really I cannot believe that I managed it! It was truly a balance masterpiece for me and my husband – where would I be without him? But look at me now! Here I am (filled with sweets in Germany) writing my first year report! I met 54 families and made them my own! I really loved and smiled at every picture taken (even at those that did not work out!) This such an unbelievable and overwhelming feeling that you trusted me your time and showed me your love! And now my pictures will stay in your family story forever! Incredible, right? Thank you my dears! You made this year so very special for me! And even if we sometimes had a not so smooth experience working together I am still very thankful for your trust and honesty and I will improve thinking of you! And all of your families will stay in my heart and become a part of my family story too! I hope we will see each other next year and in the years to come! Hooray! Here is a small selection of my favourites!
*too many exclamations but this is how I feel!!!!!!!
Incredibly beautiful session on a calm warm May day! I adore those deep greens, red and magenta tones and all the love and tenderness of this little family I was lucky to get to know!
I really do not have words to describe how cute these twin girls are! And their cousins too! But I hope the photos can tell it :) This was an amazing session! And the maternity session was too!
We were planning a birth session and I was so excited to be able to take the very first picture of this little beauty! But everything happened so quick, that her daddy got this honour. And I got to know her a couple of days later – so tiny and sweet. Perfect!
This little sweetheart decided to be born on the day when we were supposed to have a maternity session. And it turned out to be a very good decision indeed, because we could have this lovely family session 8 weeks later.
I have been having many newborn sessions lately and of course I always get question from the expecting parents when it is the best time to schedule a newborn session. So I decided to make this small overview. I consider your baby to be a “newborn” for the first three months. But this only means that you can book my “Belly & Baby” and “Baby Solo” packages within this time. For a baby three month is a huge period, when baby is changing a lot: your baby will double her weight during this time, get/lost hair and maybe even will get her first tooth!
The first day after the birth your baby is changing so quickly that you can actually see it (I know it, because I did not sleep for about first 24 hours after the births and just stared at my kids)))) These first days are really incredible – the photos after the births are the most beautiful and emotional photos I have.

One lovely early spring session with happy parents, the cutest baby, a granny and a „big“ sister (who is actually still a baby!) The session took place in the middle of a moving to another apartment and there was only one small window – but they all were just glowing and we had lots of fun! Thank you for this day! I love the pictures!
