When I first stumbled upon Maryia and her ideas about family photography, I immediately felt she got what it’s all about, which is anything and everything but posing for pictures.
Also, she is super passionate about what she does, and that comes through already before booking a session with her, just by reading her blog or looking at her homepage.
I had some worries before working with Maryia. A photo shoot is a real investment and for most people, it is expensive. Naturally there was a little doubt whether the resulting photos will make the money worth it but that fear was gone as soon as we met up with her.
Maryia has this incredible skill of being there and present and friendly and chatty, and still make the session all about the “target group”. I tend to think most people feel at least somewhat uncomfortable with a camera directed at them. For me, personally, it can be extremely bad. However, with her, we were all completely at ease and never felt that someone was trespassing our private space. It was definitely the smoothest and easiest shoot that I’ve been part of.
In the end, we were just spending quality time with our kids in the park and all of us had lots of fun.
It was also a great experience for our kids! Our toddler is in the shy phase and tends to turn very serious even when we ourselves try to take photos of her. It didn’t take long for her to forget about the looming camera lens, and focus on the important stuff instead, like playing in the fountain or splashing in the creek or just having tons of fun with us.
I had quite high expectations for this session but when Maryia sent over the pictures, it left me and my husband speechless (and teary). She has managed to capture our family exactly how I’d imagined (but wouldn’t dare to hope for) and I would proudly present every single image for the whole world to see if it came to that :)
Is it worth to hire Maryia as your family photographer?
Yes! Yes! Yes! You will never regret a photo session with Maryia, and the resulting pictures will rock!

I have chosen Maryia because I was impressed by her portfolio and her ability to capture candid moments that highlight the bond among the family members. This was exactly what I wanted for my family!
I was a little bit worried to hire a photographer, because my 3.5 and 2 year old daughters are generally shy among strangers. But it turned out that Maryia is extremely natural with children. She is a mother of three and it shows!

I was worried that the session would feel artificial and weird – and as a result the pictures wouldn’t capture us as a natural couple and family.
But after the first minutes we started to relax and the result ended up being joyous and relaxed pictures, exactly like we wanted!

Maryia has an incredible eye for capturing and highlighting those little everyday moments that slip through your attention. I didn't realize until I received the pictures how important this was to do. She is a warm presence that makes you feel at ease and she draws out the best in shy, mischievous children.
These are not photos taken in a studio with props and forced smiles. They are little snapshots of a precious time in your life that you will always want to remember. I highly recommend her.

The great thing about her is that she immediately put us at ease (and I am never at ease in front of a photographer!) and everyone was very relaxed so that the pictures turned out to be very natural and spontaneous, which is what we were looking for. “My biggest fear was that Nina my 4 year old daughter will be shy around Maryia and as a result will either not be in any pictures or with a very grumpy face :) I didn't need to worry at all. Maryia is fantastic with babies and kids so Nina loved her straight away. We all did! :)

Having said that, we both agreed on a documentary style photos rather then styled shots so really the efforts in terms of my prep work were minimal :))
