Important Questions About Your Family Photos To Ask Yourself Today | by Geneva Family Photographer9/6/2020 We all take photos of our families. It is quick and easy! Some of us have big heavy cameras, some small light phones. Some of us are professional photographers, some of us do not really know, how a photograph is made. But most of us take an advantage of the technology to preserve memories of beautiful days in our life. Usually our habits of taking and dealing with photographs develop over several years and we often forget to review how effective those habits are. And very often they are not! So instead of creating a nice and emotional documentation of your family life you add on to a digital overwhelm with every new photo. Your family photos are really something very special and unique and these are questions you should definitely ask yourself from time to time in order there are no regrets later – neither for you, nor for your family. Maybe these questions will inspire you to take different photos than you usually do, to ask your partner to take some photos with you in them, or to hire a photographer to capture your family love and connection. How often do you see your favorite photos? Nowerdays many photos do remain digital. But you can and should print your most favourite ones, so you can see them every day, for example, you can create a coffee table book or a wall art. Seeing them will keep reminding you of those good memories, of why everything that you do is really worth it. How do you like to look at your favourite pictures? Looking at digital photos is just a quick scroll, while holding a real photo print gives you a completely different feeling. As if you are able to really touch those memories! Printed photographs are much more real than anything we seen on the screen. It is very important to really pause and see the photos of your family. So if you do not have paper versions yet, that might be a good idea to make a sideshow out your favourite photos with your favourite music, so you can spend some minutes really enjoying them. I love photo books! I try to make one every year. I also add some sweet notes about my kids, our jokes, favourite quotes. I make them really personal and emotional! Do your kids see themselves in your home? Photos remind everyone that they are part of a family and if they see photos with them being put on the wall - they feel that they are important! You can read more about why family photos are so important for little kids here: Why Documenting Your Family Story is Important For Your Kids How do you want to remember this time of your life? Time flies! You know it. You sweet baby is saddenly taller than you and want a motocycle! But every little moment alone the way is precious. I try to create a time machine for me and my loved ones, so we can alsways look back and smile and fell connected. Do you? It really worth it! And quite simple. keep a journal, take some photos, create an album, recors funny videos! Please think what you would really like to remeber 5 years from now and create this tangible memory! How do you want to be remembered? Moody, always in front of computer with acup of coffee (with a cup of COLD coffee!!!). :D :D :D I treasure photos of me and my parents, where we laugh like crazy, travel, singing songs and simply having fun! I really do not care, weather they are slim enough, wthout wrinkles, looking at the camera and smiling! Do you? Probably not! And so will our kids! They will want pictures to see how loved they were, even during the difficult times, even when you were exhausted. I want to have photos showing who we really are and how much we love each other no matter what. Not just showing the way we look! Does your family have access to the pictures or is it just you, who have it? In case if something happens to you it is crucial that you not only keep backups of your pictures, but that someone else is able to access them. And if your partner for some reason is not available to access them, how will your kids? Photo books, albums, and prints are keepsakes that your family can access at any time, even if technology fails. Thank you for reading!
